Ballad

Hello everyone! My apologies for being MIA lately. I have just begun a much needed R&R from work. For the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing with you some poems I’ve written years ago to woo my now wife. She has collected them for me in a hand made scrapbook. It’s been a while since I’ve written any poetry and I hope to inspire myself to write new ones by revisiting these poems from the past. Hope you enjoy!

For the first poem, here is “Ballad.”

Your touch

Your taste

Your smell

Your skin

Your hair

Your diamond eyes…

Your kindness

Your passion

Your smarts

Your beauty

Your love.

The world will never ever be the same

Once we unleash

Our love on this cold, dark place…

Let the beggar

Let the rich man

Let child

Let woman

Let warrior

Hear my ballad

Of love and strength.

Woe to the devil

And let the heavens open up

For I, the knight will

Forever seal my love for

A beautiful princess

With a simple love-filled kiss…
