Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
“So many ideas and thoughts swirling inside this noggin of mine.” That’s one thing I would hear growing up in sunny Florida, moonlighting as a pseudo country boy. But I guess when you are born with a congenital birth defect you have nothing but time to think. It was a sunny day in January 1985, when I was born into this world blue like a Smurf and with my umbilical cord wrapped around my neck like a hangman’s noose. I guess that is why when I watch Clint Eastwood in High Plains Drifter I understand his pain. The good Doctor brought me back to life, as my Great Granny would remind me when I would get ornery.
Ideas, ideas and again more ideas – Every day I would find myself going to school and having a new idea about this, that or the other. I would wake up after one of my many facial reconstructive surgeries and automatically start thinking about my next move or just random stuff. But how to quiet the thoughts for a little while and give me some peace? That is where music came into my life. But one can only listen to My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Merle Haggard or Chris Ledoux for so long. Very strange taste in music and my random ideas led me to ponder writing my first blog.
First thing I think is, “Who would want to read a blog by me?” or “What could I even write about that others would find interesting?” However, in a society where people are eating Tide detergent pods, I figured anything is game. But the bigger question is what to write? What would capture the attention of readers or my friends? I have a large quantity of friends who are blunt like me, so I feel they will serve as my quality control. So I pulled the trigger on it and decided to go for it.
Now you are probably wondering, “Who the heck is this guy?” or “Why would I read your blog?” Well to properly introduce myself just call me Bobby. I am a simple country boy born and raised in the Sunshine State (Florida). Apparently when you identify as a Florida born native folks have a hard time believing that. Besides that bringing a crooked smile to my face, I also enjoy my hometown Cracker Barrel. Who does not love the Cracker Barrel?
So please look forward to blogs about international affairs, political military affairs, food, random ideas, and travel points. It is going to be broad spectrum and hopefully interesting content. I may even go on the occasional rant about “social justice” issues or the current political climate, who knows?
In closing, welcome to my blog and thank you for taking the time to stop by.
